She leads on embedding a "whole systems approach" to improve wider health determinants, covering health impact assessments and infrastructure.

Max is Founder & CEO of the LDN Collective, a network of built environment specialists fighting to improve people’s lives and the planet’s prospects. Members are experts in placemaking & urban design; social value & co-design; branding & communications. Current projects include a new ‘eventscape’ in the Royal Docks; a garden community in Huntingdonshire and urban regeneration projects in the UK and beyond. Max’s expertise lies in urban planning & strategic communications. He is Chair of Built Environment Policy for West London Business; Chair of the Healthy City Design Congress; Immediate Past President of LAI Land Economics Society (London chapter) and a Fellow of the RSA. Max was Project Lead and Author of the Farrell Review of Architecture and the Built Environment, commissioned by the UK Government, which made 60 recommendations many of which have been implemented. He is an adviser to Demos, Urban Design London, the Place Alliance, the Urban Room Network and the Quality of Life Foundation.

Clare Wildfire is Mott MacDonald’s Global Cities Lead and a Fellow, with 35 years’ experience spanning low‑carbon engineering, regeneration, and sustainable urban development. She applies systemic thinking to help cities accelerate decarbonisation, strengthen climate resilience, and deliver healthier, more inclusive outcomes. Clare is an advocate for the healthy city agenda, has been on the Healthy City Design International Congress programme committee for over five years and co-authored a report on making London’s infrastructure and communities more inclusive. She has also played a key role in industry‑led collaborations advancing the UK’s transition to net zero, including authoring A place‑based approach to net zero.

Ben Smith is the Director responsible for Arup’s business in the UK South Geography, covering our offices in London, Southampton and Cambridge. This geography comprises around 2500 people. Projects run from this geography account for c.15% of Arup’s global fee income. Ben’s background is an environmental consultant. He has over 25 years’ experience as a practicing environmental consultant and has delivered consultancy commissions for public and private sector clients in the UK, Europe and Australia. He has worked predominantly for masterplanners, developers and government clients, with a focus over the last decade on cities and local authorities. Ben has previously acted as Arup’s partnership director for our partnership with C40 Cities and as the group leader for our Environment Climate and Sustainability Group in UK South.

He has over two decades’ experience in strategic planning and infrastructure delivery, most recently as Managing Director of Barking Riverside, where he oversaw major housing growth and secured over £300m of investment.
